Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and well-organized Staff Accountant to perform a variety of accounting and financial tasks to join our team in our San Diego office. The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, assist in preparing various financial reports supporting schedules and reconciling bank statements. You will also be responsible for data entry including accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting clerk should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have strong analytical skills. Must be able to multitask and thrive working in a fast paced environment.

This is a hybrid position where you will work at our Corporate San Diego Headquarters, located in beautiful Liberty Station, Tuesday-Thursday. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Adapt to changing process environments while updating accounting and documentation to be more efficient to include entering key data of financial transactions including AP, AR and other related items
  • Monthly entry and review of company employee expenses
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Assist to organize Internal Controls processes and SOX Compliance

Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years relevant accounting experience (required)
  • Bachelors degree with Accounting background (required)
  • Proven accounting experience in areas of AP, AR, expense processes, and other month-end areas (required)
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot tables, LOOKUPS, and other key functions (required)
  • Familiarity with basic US GAAP accounting procedures (required)
  • Experience with NetSuite accounting software - A plus
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports - A plus
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented and ability to multitask a must
  • Desire to develop career and move into more challenging role
